Since my list of books I was looking forward to in the Fall was so popular, I thought I'd make a list of books that I'm looking forward to coming out this Spring. Most of these will be coming out in March and April and might give you some ideas for books to read over Spring Break.
Obsidio by Amife Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (Releasing March 13)
Obsidio is the third installment in The Illuminae Files. While you could mostly read the second installment before the first, it seems that the third is best read after the first two. This is not official, but is my opinion based on the synopsis.
Synopsis (May be spoilers for 1&2)

Synopsis (May be spoilers for 1&2)
Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they’ll find seven months after the invasion?
Meanwhile, Kady’s cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza’s ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha’s past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict. With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heros will fall, and hearts will be broken.
The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan (March 20)
While I'm not just looking forward to this book because of the gorgeous cover, I still cannot get over how beautiful the cover is. Even the spine is fantastic. You should go check out her twitter to see the beautiful photos she has been taking of the book and you can also participate in the preorder campaign to get some gorgeous swag.
Leigh Chen Sanders is absolutely certain about one thing: When her mother died by suicide, she turned into a bird.
Leigh, who is half Asian and half white, travels to Taiwan to meet her maternal grandparents for the first time. There, she is determined to find her mother, the bird. In her search, she winds up chasing after ghosts, uncovering family secrets, and forging a new relationship with her grandparents. And as she grieves, she must try to reconcile the fact that on the same day she kissed her best friend and longtime secret crush, Axel, her mother was taking her own life.
Not If I Save You First by Ally Carter (March 27)
I've loved Ally Carter since middle school (a whole 7 years) and have read all of her books. So of course I am very much looking forward to her newest release. It sounds like her newest has something in it for everyone, no matter which of her series is your favorite. I expect it to have the high-stakes hijinks that are a huge part of what makes her books so exciting but more fun than scary.
Maddie thought she and Logan would be friends forever. But when your dad is a Secret Service agent and your best friend is the president’s son, sometimes life has other plans. Before she knows it, Maddie’s dad is dragging her to a cabin in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. No phone. No Internet. And not a single word from Logan. Maddie tells herself it’s okay. After all, she’s the most popular girl for twenty miles in any direction. (She’s also the only girl for twenty miles in any direction.) She has wood to cut and weapons to bedazzle. Her life is full. Until Logan shows up six years later . . . And Maddie wants to kill him.
But before that can happen, an assailant appears out of nowhere, knocking Maddie off a cliff and dragging Logan to some unknown fate. Maddie knows she could turn back- and get help. But the weather is turning and the terrain will only get more treacherous, the animals more deadly. Maddie still really wants to kill Logan. But she has to save him first.
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli (April 24)
How much do I love Becky Albertalli? SO MUCH If you haven't read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda or The Upside of Unrequited go read them now. And then go see Love, Simon when it comes out on March 16. If you have read these, you'll already know and love Leah and I won't have to convince you to read this book.
Just look at this glorious cover. It's so great. Go preorder it, which you can do here.
If this isn't enough for you, here's what it's about:

If this isn't enough for you, here's what it's about:
When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat—but real life isn’t always so rhythmic.
She’s an anomaly in her friend group: the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she’s bisexual, she hasn’t mustered the courage to tell her friends—not even her openly gay BFF, Simon.
So Leah really doesn’t know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high.
It’s hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting—especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended.
